In October Mrs Archer, Mrs Hardy, Mrs Rowland and some children from Gardening Club were invited to Northampton in Bloom awards evening. It was at the Guildhall in Northampton town centre. We went in to a really big welcoming room where we had a drink and some yummy cakes, on a big screen there were lots of photographs from all the different entries, some of them were amazing.
We then had to go in to the main hall where we all sat down and waited for the school category, The men at the from read aloud about each entry and told us all about each school.
It was our turn we walked up to the front to find we had won GOLD!
The judges had written some great things out our projects … “What a wonderful vegetable garden the children have grown this year- the best achieved so far. They have a great choice of vegetables in the plot.”
“There is a new look to the corner plot which has been transformed”
“The experiment of the bog and dry gardens was a stunning example”
“Fantastic effort”
We are all so very proud of how hard the children work at Gardening Club all year round we have achieved great things and grown lots of different things for the children to try.
The hard work has definitely paid off in the GOLD certificate. We are looking forward to another year of Gardening Club.
Well done children, lets see what we can achieve this year…
