Helping the Queen Bee

This evening in Gardening Club we planted some beautiful spring flowers to help queen bumblebees who are just waking up from hibernation. The nectar in the flowers will provide food for the hungry bees who have not eaten all winter. We planted primroses, teasels, alliums and several different bulbs which we hope will have shot up by the time we get back after the Easter holidays. Our first vegetables of the year were also planted by the club today – peas – yummy!

I’m sure you won’t believe it, but some members of Gardening Club had forgotten their wellies today! But they put their time to good use indoors and made the finishing touches for our Gardening Club wall display. We hope you like it 🙂
