Finishing off the ponds

We put our little washing up bowl ponds in place this week. We put some gravel in the bottom, then topped them up with water. Our plan is to add some plants to them in the spring, when the weather is warmer. Also, Mrs Male had got some lovely conifer trees so we could make a better fence for our reading area. The gardeners put them into large pots and we hope you agree that the reading area is looking very smart now.

Pond digging

After our froggy visitor last week on the Bellinge campus, we decided we should put in some mini ponds to help encourage more of his friends. We got three washing up bowls and measured around them so we could dig holes to fit them. We dug two in the boggy part of the meadow and one in the woods. J and P rinsed off lots of gravel for us to put in the bottom. We didn’t quite have time to put them all in place this session, but we will finish them off next week.
